Background

The SCUC Education Foundation was created in 2008 when a group of like-minded community members decided to give back to the teachers of the district. Foundation founders studied other local school district foundations and decided that even though SCUC ISD was a smaller district at the time, the teachers and staff could stand to have some financial help when it came to implementing innovative teaching initiatives throughout the district. The first fundraiser held was a breakfast at Garcia's on FM 3009 that was then followed by the first golf tournament at Olympia Hills Golf Course, and so began the opportunity to deliver more than $15,000 via Prize Party the following school year. The Foundation continued to give back through grants and gifts to the teachers of SCUC for the past 15 years. In August 2022, the Foundation paused to review and refine is mission and its vision for the programs and projects it would fund for the future. The past year of revitalization has resulted in an increase in board membership, a renewed clarity in the mission of our non-profit organization, and a strategic development plan that will better connect our community as we work together to support students, teachers, and the staff in SCUC ISD.

What We Do

We raise and give away money! Yup, you heard that right. Our sole mission is to fund innovative teaching programs across the district. Thanks to district supporters, community members, and local businesses, we have raised over $290,000 over the past ten years. The best part is that as a board we get to personally deliver the news and the checks to the winning teachers and campuses at the end of every fall semester. There is nothing more awesome than being able to reward our hard-working and dedicated teaching staff and their students!
